A certified multilingual instructor is based on the 1st floor of the hotel. The diving school is affiliated to international diving organisations such as PADI, SSI, PDIC, BSAC and IDD, and offers lessons and diving sessions to guests.

SITUATION

The city of Machico is easily reached by public bus or taxi. The Hotel is situated within a few minutes' drive of Madeira´s airport.

The Dom Pedro Baía Hotel overlooks the beach of Machico Bay and is only a few steps away from the picturesque and historic fishing village which was Zarco's landfall when he discovered Madeira. This is where the Dom Pedro Baia stands, set in beautiful scenery where the green of the mountains meets the deep blue of the Atlantic.

Near the hotel is the little chapel of São Roque, built at the end of the 15th century to honour a vow made by the second Governor of Machico to the saint for his miracle of ending the then current plague. The village of Machico contains another fine old church, dedicated to the Senhor dos Milagres, the Lord of Miracles, who saved Machico in the terrible flood of 1803: the anniversary is celebrated at a large festival every year on 9th February. For fine panoramas of Madeira's east coast, Columbus' island of Porto Santo and the desert islands, there are two excellent viewpoints above Machico.

With its sports facilities and entertainment programme on this fabulous island, the Dom Pedro Baia offers both luxurious comfort and interesting activities for the more active holidaymaker. Reception will be happy to arrange golf at Santo da Serra, and diving lessons at the internationally accredited school in Machico.

By Car from the Airport to the Hotel: Follow signs to Machico. At the end of the motorway is a sign which indicates Machico straight ahead, and Dom Pedro Baía Hotel to the right. Turn right, and the hotel entrance is on the right.

chambre double Renovated in 2002, Dom Pedro Baía Hotel has a total of 218 rooms of which there are 140 Tower Rooms, 59 Club Rooms and 15 Garden Rooms. Other facilities include a restaurant, bars, meeting rooms and a shopping mall on the 1st floor.

All rooms are equipped with: direct dial telephone, television with ten channels, central heating, hairdryer, personal safe, turndown and laundry service, Dom Pedro bathroom amenities, emergency pull-cord, fire detector, electricity at 220V.

Tower Rooms:
These rooms are located on the higher floors of the hotel, between the 4th and 10th, and at this level, they all enjoy stunning views of Machico and the ocean.
The rooms are configured as Single and Twin Rooms, with a number of very large Three and Four-Bed Rooms, and Suites.

Club Rooms:
This exclusive accommodation, configured as twin and three-bedded rooms, is a feature of the most select of Dom Pedro hotels, and guests here enjoy special amenities and personal service. They are located on the best floors of the hotel, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd, and are decorated and furnished to a consistently high standard.
Club Rooms each have a private balcony with full sea views, and are provided with a minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, in-room internet access and bathrobes. Guests enjoy VIP treatment on arrival, and the privilege of reserving places in the dining room and sunloungers by the pool.

Garden View Rooms:
